How to delete your Lumis data

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Lumis, by Luminous Metrics, stores the marketing data and access you give it when you connect Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google and other platforms. You can delete it at any time. This page explains every way to do that, what each one deletes and how fast. It adds detail to our Privacy Policy.

1. Delete data in Lumis

An owner or admin of your Lumis workspace can do this at any time.

Disconnect Meta or Google

  1. Open Settings, go to the Integrations tab and open the brand under Your Channels (or click Manage connections on the brand's card).
  2. Next to Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram), or next to Google Ads, Google Analytics or Search Console, click Disconnect.

Lumis immediately deletes the stored access token for that channel and stops reading from it or changing anything in it. Reporting data Lumis already copied stays with the brand so your past reports keep working, until you delete the brand, ask us to delete it, or send a deletion request from Facebook (section 2).

Delete a brand

In Settings > Integrations > Your Channels, click the delete (bin) icon next to the brand and confirm with Delete. This permanently deletes the brand with all of its connections, stored tokens and copied data. It cannot be undone.

Delete your whole account

Email support-team@luminousmetrics.io from the email address of your Lumis account (section 4).

2. Remove Lumis from Facebook (Meta)

  1. On Facebook, open Settings & privacy > Settings.
  2. Open Business integrations (Lumis is listed there when it has ad permissions) or Apps and websites.
  3. Select Lumis and click Remove. From that moment Lumis can no longer read or change anything in your Meta accounts.
  4. To have Lumis delete the data it received from Meta, send the deletion request Facebook offers for the removed app. Facebook sends it to Lumis, and shows you a confirmation code and a link to its status.

Lumis processes the request automatically, within a few minutes. For every Lumis connection made with your Facebook account it deletes the stored access token, the link to the ad account, the recorded permissions and your Facebook user ID, deletes the Meta reporting data and audience list it copied from Meta, and removes the Meta data in the agents' saved investigations (the results of their Meta checks and the findings written from them). You can check the request at any time on the deletion request status page with your confirmation code. If anything cannot be deleted automatically, our team completes it by hand within 30 days, and the status page says so.

3. Remove Lumis from your Google Account

Go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, select Lumis and remove its access. This immediately stops Lumis from reading or changing anything in your Google accounts. Google does not tell Lumis about it, so to delete the Google data Lumis already stored, disconnect Google or delete the brand in Lumis (section 1), or email us (section 4). See also How Lumis uses Google data.

4. Ask us to delete your data

Email support-team@luminousmetrics.io from the email address of your Lumis account and tell us what to delete: one channel's data, a brand, or your whole account. We may ask you to confirm the request. We complete it within 30 days and reply when it is done.

5. What is deleted, and when

What each way of deleting removes, and how fast
HowWhat is deletedWhen
Disconnect Meta in LumisThe stored Meta access token, the link to the Meta ad account, the ad account's details and the record of which permissions Meta granted.Immediately
Disconnect Google Ads, Google Analytics or Search Console in LumisThat channel's account link and its stored Google token. The three Google products share one Google sign-in, so a token another connected Google product on the same brand still uses is kept until you disconnect that one too.Immediately
Delete a brand in LumisThe brand and everything stored for it: every channel connection and stored token, the reporting data copied from every platform, Meta audience records, change history and the creative library.Immediately (uploaded creative files are cleared from storage by an automatic cleanup, within 30 days at the latest)
Remove Lumis from Facebook and send a deletion requestFor every Lumis connection made with that Facebook account: the stored Meta access token, the link to the ad account, the recorded permissions, the Facebook user ID, the Meta reporting data Lumis copied, the list of Meta audiences Lumis read, and the Meta data in the agents' saved investigations.Automatically, within a few minutes of Facebook sending the request
Email us to delete your data or your accountWhat you ask for, up to your whole Lumis account and all associated data, including every stored token and all cached API data from Google, Meta and the other platforms.Within 30 days of your request

6. What we keep

  • Your organisation's audit log of changes your owners and admins made or approved (what changed, when and who approved it), until your Lumis account is deleted. It never contains access tokens.
  • A short record that a brand was deleted (its name and the ids of the accounts it was connected to, never tokens or reporting data), as part of that audit trail.
  • Your agent chat conversations, as they were written (they can quote figures an agent read from Meta), until you delete them in Lumis, delete the brand or your account, or ask us to (section 4).
  • Billing records we are required by law to keep.
  • Deleted data can remain in encrypted database backups until those backups expire on our database provider's rolling schedule.
